Heeltsje Graansma – Heeltsje (42) heeft een rijk en avontuurlijk levenspad bewandeld: in haar tienertijd actief als eco-activist en in de kraakbeweging leerde ze over zelfvoorzienend en duurzaam leven. Daarna studeerde ze milieu-maatschappijwetenschappen en kreeg ze twee kinderen. Het grootbrengen van deze twee in een bosrijk terrein in eigen beheer in Zeist, in combinatie met haar grote liefde voor medicinale planten, bracht een verlangen mee om meer bezig te zijn met de natuur en levende systemen. Hiervoor vond ze perfecte aansluiting in de Permacultuurschool Nederland. Een van de vele permacultuurprojecten die zij ondernam, was het oprichten van ecodorp Ppauw in Wageningen. Jarenlange ervaring met persoonlijke begeleiding van ongedocumenteerde vluchtelingen bracht een diepe wens voor radicale solidariteit en een verdieping in haar werk met sociale permacultuur. Heeltsje Graansma – Heeltsje (42) has so far been walking a rich and adventurous path of life: active as eco-activist and in the squatting movement during her teenage years, taught her lots about self-sufficient and sustainable living. During her studies in environmental social sciences she gave birth to two children. Raising them in a forested, self-managed terrain in Zeist, in combination with her deep love for medicinal plants, gave life to the desire to connect more with nature and living systems. The Permaculture School Netherlands was a perfect fit to this. One of many permaculture projects she undertook, was founding ecovillage Ppauw in Wageningen. Years of experience with personal guidance of undocumented refugees gave rise to a strong wish for radical solidarity and deepened her work with social permaculture. Nature connection, holistic knowledge about wild plants and intuitive compassion is what you can find and explore more with Heeltsje.
Mali Boomkens – Liefde voor de natuur loopt als rode draad door Mali’s (32) leven. Haar studies in duurzame tropische bosbouw en biologisch-dynamische landbouw legden daarin de eerste basis. In haar betrokkenheid bij de oprichting van Vereniging Toekomstboeren begon haar ontdekkingsreis met permacultuur. Als huidige ‘permacultuur-nomade’ draagt zij een volle rugzak aan praktijkervaringen mee vanuit heel Europa en daarbuiten. Na jaren zelf in een ecologische gemeenschap te hebben gewoond (waar ze Heeltsje ook leerde kennen), trok ze er begin 2020 op uit om gemeenschappen en projecten op te zoeken. Ondertussen op zoek met haar partner naar die ene droomplek om Thuis te noemen. De vele ontmoetingen met gepassioneerde pioniers die hun best doen samen te werken aan een duurzamere wereld voor de toekomstige generaties geven haar hoop en het vertrouwen dat we het samen kunnen! Al reizend doorloopt Mali het permacultuur diploma-pad bij de British Permaculture Association en geeft zij cursussen in samenwerking met andere permacultuurdocenten. Als facilitator van groepsprocessen staat gevoeligheid voor het kwetsbare menselijke centraal en is haar streven om iedereen de veilige ruimte te bieden zich te uiten. Mali Boomkens – Her love for nature weaves a strong thread through Mali’s (32) life. The studies in sustainable tropical forestry and bio-dynamic agriculture form the first basis in this. Through her involvement in the founding of the Dutch Future Farmers Association, her journey of discovery with permaculture began. As a current-day ‘permaculture nomad’ she carries with her a backpack full of practical experiences from all around the world. After years of living in an ecological community herself (where she also met Heeltsje), she left her home ground in 2020 to explore communities and projects elsewhere. Meanwhile on the lookout with her partner for that dream place to call Home. The many encounters with passionate pioneers who try all their best in creating a more sustainable world for themselves and future generations give her hope and trust that we can do this together! While on the road, Mali has started the permaculture diploma-pathway with the British Permaculture Association and facilitates workshops and courses in collaboration with other permaculture teachers. As a facilitator of group processes, sensitivity to vulnerability and inclusion is key for her, striving to create a safe space for all to express themselves. You would meet Mali fully in her element when improvising on her violin, around a crackling fire under the starlit sky – inviting you to share stories, music and dreams!
